Founded in 2005, Red Rooster General Store has spent nearly two decades sending beautifully curated gift boxes for every occasion.
What began as a small-town general store in Bon Wier, Texas is now an online home for gathered treasures, personally curated, thoughtfully wrapped, and sent with the kind of care that only comes from doing this a long, long time.

Meet the Owner
Cynthia "Sue" Downing
“I love helping people find the perfect gift — and giving them a reason to smile.”
Sue spent over 20 years in the machine shop and valve automation industry, serving alongside as an Executive Director and board member for several non-profits. After her physical store closed during the pandemic, she reimagined Red Rooster as an online home for curated gifts.
She is married with four grown children and many grandkids, serves at Calvary Baptist Church, and volunteers with Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. Red Rooster is her way of sharing that same spirit of giving.

Every box is unique. Items may include notebooks, pens & pencils (including rhinestone pens and forever pencils), hair accessories, jewelry, keychains, stationery like bookmarks, book lights, highlighters and annotation tabs, pencil and makeup bags, phone accessories, office & desk items, and surprise finds. With over 100 possible items, no two boxes are alike.
When you order, share your color preferences and the recipient’s interests. We use them to guide every selection. If there are items you do not want included — for example, large hair clips for someone with short hair — just note it on the order form and we’ll gladly accommodate.
Premium boxes (25 and 30 items) include an extra-special guaranteed premium item such as a well-made purse, tote, backpack, tumbler, or coffee mug. Premium boxes also include free shipping and a complimentary video of your box being packed.
Orders are carefully packed within two business days and can be shipped directly to the recipient or held for local pickup. Premium boxes ship free.
Yes. If you would prefer to hand-select the items in your box, we will work with you as much as possible to customize your order to your exact preferences.
A Gathered Grace box is a curated care package sent to someone suffering from illness, loss, depression, or a difficult season. It can be sent anonymously — the recipient will not know who sent it, which is often half the beauty. Profits from the shop help fund this outreach.
